Last week I was very lucky to attend a delightful Cupcake Decorating course held by Dotty About Cake taught by the lovely Lorraine & Dawn.
It was a wonderful way to spend 4 hours learning all the tricks of the trade to make your cupcakes that extra bit special.
Learning to create the perfect foundant decorations using an array of fabulous cutters and moulds. How to colour the foundant in a myriad of gorgeous colours. What piping tips to use to produce the ultimate ruffle and rose in buttercream. Oh using lots of glitter and sparkle, lovely.
I learned so much and I can't wait to bake lots of cupcakes and use all my new found knowledge of cupcake decoration to great affect.
After colouring the fondant we used cutter and moulds to create lots of beautiful flowers and butterflies. They where left to dry on a nobberly foam mat.
We used buttercream to decorate the cupcake with ruffles, roses and grass. Foundant was rolled on embossing mats with a raised floral and paisley design.
Close up on the embossed foundant. Below, a close up on a buttercream rose with a foundant daisies and leaves.
We where each given 12 yummy cupcakes to decorate, a carry box and a goody bag. All 12 cupcakes have all now been happily eaten Yum Yum.
